What to Expect in Kripalu Yoga Classes
Kripalu Yoga is a gentle hatha yoga practice emphasizing compassion. It focuses on meditation, healing, and transformation, eventually overflowing into the practitioner's daily life. During a Kripalu class, each student learns to find their own level of practice by looking inward. Just a few of the items you and other students will learn and practice in one session include:
- Traditional Asana
- Shavasana (Relaxation)
- Yoga Nidra
- Gentle and Advanced Stretches
- Pranayama (Yogic Breathing)
Anthony recommends all students wear comfortable clothing to yoga classes. Shorts are not ideal; however, you may wish to dress in layers. Use a class-mat or bring along your own. Do not to eat a heavy meal before class.
